Book your theory or practical test
You can book your driving tests yourself or give power of attorney to someone else to book them on your behalf. This could be your driving instructor, a parent or another person aged 18 or over.
If you have been given power of attorney to act on someone else’s behalf, you can also book their driving tests for them. See more information below.
Borgerservice will confirm when you are eligible to book a driving test. You must meet all the requirements for driver training before you can take your test.
The requirements are the same regardless of who books the test on your behalf. Borgerservice is responsible for confirming your eligibility to book a test.

What must be in place before you can take your test
1. Theory test
You can book the theory test once your application has been approved and you have received a letter in Digital Post. You must have completed all theory modules before you can take the theory test.
2. Practical driving test
Once your application has been approved and you have received a letter in Digital Post, you can book the practical driving test. You must have completed all practical modules before you can take the practical driving test.
3. Signed module plans
All module plans must be signed and brought with you to both the theory test and the practical driving test. The module plans document that the required training has been completed and that your driving instructor has assessed that you meet the requirements for taking the test. This does not apply if you are exchanging a foreign driving licence for a Danish driving licence or having your driving licence reissued.
4. Driver education vehicle for the practical driving test
If you book your practical test yourself, you must make sure that a driver education vehicle is available for the test. This also applies if someone other than your driving instructor books the test on your behalf. You should therefore make an agreement with a driving instructor to ensure that a driver education vehicle is available for your test.
A power of attorney gives you flexibility when booking your test
A power of attorney allows another person to book a test on your behalf. There are two ways to set up a power of attorney. You can grant the power of attorney yourself, or the person who needs to book the test on your behalf can request one.
Grant or request power of attorney (DK)
Grant power of attorney
If you have MitID, you can grant the power of attorney yourself through Digital Power of Attorney. The person you grant the power of attorney will receive it in Digital Post and can then use their own MitID to book tests on your behalf.

Accept power of attorney
Have you received a request to accept power of attorney, there are a few steps you need to complete.

Request power of attorney
If you are a driving instructor and need to book tests for a student, you can use MitID Erhverv to request power of attorney through Digital Power of Attorney. The request will be sent to the student for approval.
Once the power of attorney has been given, you can use your MitID Erhverv to book tests on behalf of the student who granted you the power of attorney.
See the guidance for more information (DK)
The process is the same if you are requesting power of attorney from another person as a private individual.

If the power of attorney cannot be approved digitally
If the person you need to book the test for does not have MitID or cannot accept the power of attorney digitally, the request can be sent by post. The letter must be signed, and all pages must be sent to Borgerservice. If you are exempt from digital self-service, Borgerservice can also help you grant the power of attorney or book your test.
